How to Get Your Motorcycle Licence in Northwest Territories (Class 6)

Step by step

1. Class 6 knowledge-test questions are based on the motorcycle handbook and the Basic Licence Driver's Handbook. Pair it with free practice tests on the same topics so nothing on test day feels new.
2. Pass the knowledge test at any GNWT Issuing Agent office. We couldn't find an official question count or pass mark from GNWT Infrastructure. Our mock exam uses a practice standard of 50 questions with 80% to pass. Confirm the current format with GNWT Infrastructure. 3. Ride Stage 1 as a Learner's Class 7. At least 12 months, from age 15. Your supervisor must be fully licensed (not probationary) with at least 24 months on a full Class 6, riding the motorcycle with you or following in or on another vehicle. No riding 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., zero blood alcohol for both of you, and no passengers other than your supervisor.
4. Move to Stage 2, a probationary Class 6P, at age 16 — hold it for 12 months — then Stage 3 gives you a full Class 6 at age 17 with fewer than 6 demerit points. Practical skill and road tests are done with certified driver examiners.
